Neuromuscular Massage Therapy  
 

NMT identifies soft tissue abnormalities and at the same time manipulates the soft tissue to normalize its function. In so doing the perpetuating cycle is broken, much of the referred pathologic activity is reversed, and over function is improved. 

Deep Tissue Massage
 

In deep tissue massage techniques are used that aim is to affect the various layer of fascia that support muscle tissues and loosen bonds between the layers of connective tissues. 

Sports Massage
 

Designed to prepare an athlete for an upcoming event and to aid in the body’s regenerative and restorative capacities following a rigorous workout or competition. This is achieved through specialized manipulations that stimulate circulation of the blood and lymph. 

Esalen / Swedish Massage
 

Esalen swedish employs long, lengthening strokes with gentle rocking and stretching, passive joint movement, sculpting of deep musculature, delicate cranial balancing, subtle neural re-education and the precision of Chinese point work

Lomi Lomi Massage
 

Using forearms and elbows for most of the strokes, which are sequenced to connect the whole body. Stimulating and relaxing, deep work that results in a vigorous fush of the lymphatic system. Great for athletes and full fgured people. 

Reflexology (Foot) Massage
 

Originated based on the idea that stimulation of particular points on the surface of the body has an effect on other areas or organs of the body.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage
 

Manual lymph drainage massages use light, rhythmical, spiral-like movements to accelerate the movement of lymphatic fluids within the body. 

Integrative massage
 

Integrative massage is simply combining the different approaches  within a given session to benefit you the receiver.

 

Indian head massage
 

A treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques, involving work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. It helps reduce stress, fatigue, and eyestrain, increase mental clarity, relaxes and rejuvenates the receiver

PreNatal Massage improves circulation and helps to decrease swelling and varicose veins.

Regular massage improves posture, muscle tone and flexibility, training your body for labour.

 

Studies have shown that regular massage in pregnancy contributes to a shorter,

less painful labour and can reduce labour complications.

 

Reduces Sciatic Nerve Pain

 

Sciatic nerve pain is experienced by many women in the last trimester of pregnancy

as the uterus rests on muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back.

The pressure of the uterus spreads tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg,

causing them to swell and put pressure on nearby nerves.

 

It is common for pregnant women to have experienced significant reduction in sciatic nerve pain

during pregnancy through regular massage as it helps release the tension on nearby muscles.

 

PostNatal massage

 

PostNatal massage can help speed up your recovery,

releasing the stress of labour, encouraging structural realignment,

abdominal restoration and healing from a C-section.

 

With PostNatal massage, new mums will not only find relief from shoulder and neck aches

due to carrying their new babies, but will also have all the usual benefits from massage.

 

A PostNatal massage also provides support for the new mother under the common physical and emotional strains of mothering.

 

Breastfeeding and nursing during the night can lead to women feeling exhausted, and massage will help reduce the stress, provide relaxation and comfort and give a space for rest so mums are better able to enjoy this time in their lives.

 

Also a PostNatal massage may help provide support in cases of PostNatal depression.

 

It is generally safe to have a massage immediately after a normal delivery

(6-8 weeks after a C-section,

but please consult your GP before a massage if you have any concerns).
